About Parker Upholstery

Earl Parker started his apprenticeship in upholstery in 1980 and started his shop in 1986.  He has been successfully helping people with their upholstery needs since then.  He started out in New York and moved to Clayton, North Carolina in 1991 where he has been based ever since.  Although much of his work is local, due to the depth of his experience, his shop accepts work from across the state and even, still, from New York.  Customers from as far afield as Florida and Texas have sent pieces to Earl for refurbishing.

Parker Upholstery especially loves to work on family heirlooms and bringing older pieces back to life.

Every piece we deliver is a piece we would take home ourselves, otherwise it would not be delivered back to the customer.  Older pieces of furniture were constructed differently to modern pieces of furniture and it is his years of experience that allows Earl to be able to restore pieces to the way they would have looked when they were first made, using the same types of methods of construction as were used originally.  Please take a look at our gallery of before and after pictures, and at our What we do FAQ.

Parker Upholstery is also able to take on corporate, school and institutional clients.  Clients include DuPont's conference room; CEO office chairs; as well as doctors' examining room tables.

Quality is a keystone of the work done by Parker Upholstery - you pay for our services only after you are completely satisfied with our workmanship.
